This is an ongoing artistic practice in abstracting the gesture of the human body, specifically street dancers. How they "Morph" their body to different sounds and rhythms, seeking to embody the music. There are multiple different dance styles that all touch on music in various ways. Whether it's basic rocking, intricate footwork, body isolation, floorwork, muscle freezing, or contraction. All these things collectively come together to make unique dance styles. I translated my interests in the unique gestures of street dance on a 2d plane using negative space and intentional mark-making.
